Cotton Ikat - Alaskan Snow

Black and white ikat weave - black with white ikat flecks throughout.  A summer weight cotton. Suitable for breezy tops, dresses and loose fitting trousers. 

Ikat is a resist dyeing technique where the threads used for weaving are dyed beforehand.  The Ikat threads are bound in a pattern so that the threads covered by the binding ‘resist’ the dye, creating a design.  The more binding done before weaving, the more complicated the pattern.

Fabric is sold by the 1/2 yard (you may order multiples of 1/2 yards; all yardage us cut as one continuous length.)

• 100% cotton.
• 45" (115cm) wide.
• Indian cloths are sometimes susceptible to irregularities in the weave, this is all part of their charm and are not classed as flaws.
  
• Wash warm, with a non bio detergent, and on a gentle spin. Always pre wash your cloth before sewing to get rid of any shrinkage and set colors.
